Only he can tell you that. You know rings have lots of meaning attached to them. On the other hand they can simply be decoration. You could ask in a playful, flirty way.

nothing he just likes to wear rings.. and it happens to be on his righ thand. Since you like this guy, then i suggest asking him what the ring stands for so then you guys can start a relationship from friends to soul mates maybe! just ask him about the ring and have a normal conersation with him.
